Why, in every bloody anime, does EVERYTHING happen at the end? Revolutions, weddings, the end of life... ALL in the last six episodes. Until the chaotic endgame, Gonzo had done a fantastic job of mixing a story of pure love with their own fantasy mix.

Not bad, but there's nothing great about it. The first, four episode arc spent two hours showing much of nothing, and it ended with some 'WTF?' forced shit. The final, two episode back-story arc was better, but it didn't link-in to the first arc well.

More rewatch, less enjoy. Looong brat bonding lull in middle, and story/charas seen before; lead a non-orooro Kenshin. Credit sequence, Chingchong voicebaddy & final fight all excellente... but as a film, lacking. Reminds me of Bebop movie, in that sense.

After THE best first ep (post-apoc setting, war, twins' reunion, childbirth), it kept me hooked. Frustratingly short but impressive in terms of its themes and visuals. Keel's growth + Isla had SO much potential, had it lasted longer. Insanely underrated.
