HYDERABAD: A mother and her two children attempted suicide near Secretariat on Saturday evening after they reportedly failed to get an audience with the CM.The trio are still in an unconscious state. The woman and her children, from Nellore district, reportedly came to petition the CM about her husband’s kidnap by private financiers and alleged inaction of police in tracing him.Police said V Rajyalakshmi, 35, her daughter Amala, 15, and Prem Chand, 13, came to the city on Saturday morning to meet the CM.
The family hails from Sangamitta village. Rajyalakshmi’s husband, V Chandrasekhar Rao, a lab technician in a private hospital there, reportedly took a loan of Rs 30,000 from private financiers a few months back.
The interest accumulated to more than Rs 1 lakh and the financiers were reportedly harassing Rao. Police said Rao was allegedly abducted by the financiers three days back. Rajyalakshmi reportedly approached police there but they allegedly did not act. She came to the city with her children to meet the CM, but could not do so. She went to the nearby Telugu Talli park and administered sleeping pills and pesticide to her children and she too consumed them.
