Tomorrow night at 8pm EST comedian Aries Spears of Mad TV fame will be on RadioX, internet radio station, for an interview with host Antubert and myself.
Go to www.antubert.com to find out how to listen.
Any bands out there who would like to be on RadioX please let me know.
Doesn't anyone realize how crappy YouTube is as a a video server? It uses a non-stardard Flash format, and compresses the bejezzsus out of the clips. Saving the clips are a PITA and the end result is just hideous!
Please, if you have good quality source material, upload it in it's original form to a host like Rapidshare or any number of other video servers out there!
YT may be good enough for the "Ipod generation" who never heard of "HiFi", and were raised on el-cheapo VHS tapes, and third generation cassettes, but we know better, don't we?

Link Wray - Detroit [2003]
So I was Christmas shopping at an outlet mall outside of Chicago, and I get an SMS message today from George, saying this:
Link Wray died.
i'd like to get your opinion on my new music... whether you think it sucks or not and specifically if you feel it contributes anything 'new' or 'original' to the 'genre'... let me know and i'll give you a small robot.
thanks,

For you older aging π Image
aging_hipsters out there, recollections of Don Kirshner's Rock Concert from the "jump the shark" site, may be an education for the young ones. ("We didn't have MTV or VH1!")
Was choosing to drop acid and watch the ashes of Dr. Hunter S Thompson be shot from a cannon a few days ago... an amazing event- 3 days later and I'm still a bit overwhelmed by it all...
I'm sure it'll take me a few days to further flesh out the story- add me and read it if you want -
Cheers,
Tom
Umm...hi. My name is Luke, and I'm the maker of the Brilliant Forest. I just finished recording my LP, and you can hear a few songs on my myspace page. The genre is ambient/electronic/folk/indie. People have described it as sounding like Xiu Xiu, the Microphones, Depreche Mode, and the Books. I'm not sure what else. You can decide, maybe?

love,
I was hoping to create a cake with only the ingredients readily available in my pantry/icebox. Since it was so flippinβ hot here last night, I was sitting around in not-so-presentable attire and didnβt feel like going to the market. Unfortunately that didnβt work out so well.
I couldnβt find a recipe that didnβt have at least SOMETHING I didnβt have already. I was missing either lemon zest, milk (turns out, I only had a wee bit of skim milk after all), veg oil, etc.
I threw on some clothes and headed for the market. I picked up a lemon cake mix, some choco frosting, fresh organic berries, all fruit strawberry preserves, and some lemons. Normally, I would make the cake bit on my own, from scratch, not from box, but by the time I returned home with the goods, it was late and the boyfriend would arrive shortly. So shortcuts I took.
Someone requested pictures, so here they are, behind the cut:

There was a King Missile piece where three? guys were doing stuff to prove their manhood like guzzling whiskey, racing around the block and puking. The best line was "no one impressed by being in the presence of guys that had just jacked off with sandpaper" or something close to that. I can't find the "lyrics" on the web, which surprises me because of the success of Detachable Penis. I would like to find and it would help to know the title. Can anyone help me here?
Does anyone remember that sort of Morrocan-influenced fashion designer from the 80s - I think her name was Louise Azzer or something like that? She was pretty mainstream, she had a chain of stores. It's driving me nuts, I can't remember.
Hey everyone, you might have noticed that I haven't updated much lately. That's because I was on this long crazy vacation which included a family reunion, a wedding, Barbados and more!
( Anyways, here are my vacation pictures!Collapse )
