Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we donโt use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Learn more how customers reviews work on AmazonSo, I originally received this book as a gift a few years ago after my daughter was born in 2016. It was supposed to be a doodle book for me to color in and destress as she slept. And yeah, this is supposed to be a book for grown ups to doodle/color in. It turned into something so much better.
After sitting on my shelf for about two yrs, I brought it down, read it to a wiggly 2yr old and let her color in some of the pages. The humor can be a bit grown up focused on certain pages, like the page about feeding the internet trolls, or meeting existential corn, but nothing pearl clutching.
As time has progressed, she has colored in different pages and just about has the story memorized. Iโve noted her age and the date on each page sheโs colored. I bought 3 more copies; two to give to a friend and one to save in pristine condition to give to my daughter at graduation. The reason Iโm giving her a copy when sheโs older is because the story is funny and adorable but also, is just good. Sure, the toilet squid still makes her laugh, but the part about โwe may never know where 404 went & and thatโs part of letting goโ is a good life lesson. As is the follow up of, thatโs a bummer, keep looking, and ALWAYS end with cake.
Is this a literary masterpiece? No. Is it a reminder that we should always let ourselves be silly and have coloring tools available? Yes. If you have a sense of humor or a tiny human or both, get the book and color away.
I just got this coloring book yesterday, and I'll admit I haven't colored in it yet, but I was so excited to open it up!
First I was surprised by the thickness of the book, contains more pages than I was expecting.
Second, the artwork is cute and funny all at the same time, like many other works by The Oatmeal. As soon as I opened the book I let out a laugh at the look of the missing robot, cute, yet awkward.
Third, this isn't just your ordinary random pages in a book for coloring, this is a story about a missing robot! This is probably one of the few books I'll color in order so that I can follow/read the story as I go.
Fourth, the pages are thick and double sided. Because its a story in itself, I don't think I'd find myself wanting to take the pages out anyway. The thickness of the pages also came as a pleasant surprise to me.
I started reading the rhyming story yesterday, and only made it halfway through the book before stopping because I wanted to have something to look forward to next time I open the book. Again this speaks to the length of this book.
I am so excited to begin coloring and to keep reading the story and find out the fate of 404! Thanks for an amazing product!!!
Cute story. Some pages do have simple drawings as other reviewers have stated; however, many of the pages are more detailed as well. Cute, funny story with some cute and some bizarre characters. For kids or adults. I bought this as a Xmas present for my 31 year old sister who is a kid at heart, and I think she'll love it.
5 stars because I love everything The Oatmeal has ever done! I took a star off though for quality. Once I started coloring, I found the ink the book is printed with is not great. Once I color a page, the ink from the printed image on the back side gets transfered onto the page facing it. This happens up to four full page spreads later. I'll add pictures. Also, the ink can smudge a bit into pastel colored pencil colors, leaving them grungy-looking in places. But, since I did buy this on sale, I'm still happy with it.

Hilarious illustrations that you get to participate in! Mostly big, bold characters & spaces which for some might be better than other "adult" coloring books that often use very small & finely detailed drawings. Just a preference thing. Fun & simple for some good coloring fun or even just keeping around to read to your kids after you've added your own touches to the illustrations
This is the cutest/funniest coloring book I have ever come across.
I would say it is great for all ages. I bought it for my 7 year old Son and he laughs and laughs at all the pages.
It is goofy, but in a funny way. ;-)
My Son and I color this together. It's great Mom & Son time, and it's better than watching TV or playing a video game.
We laugh and giggle as we color.
GREAT coloring book!
This was wonderful! Got it for my wife who is a fan of The Oatmeal. This one is more family friendly so what was able to color it at work, then brought it home as a story book to read to our son.
It has a sturdy cover, and sturdy pages so it's actually a soft cover book rather than a flimsy coloring book.
Bought this for my wife it is her favorite adult coloring book. Not only is it something you can color but it also has a story plot
I love everything from The Oatmeal... this book is entertaining and has just enough details so that it doesn't get overwhelming! And the story is hilarious!
Quite simply the best Coloring book ever!!!
Its a great book of the usual hilarious comic pieces by The Oatmeal and if you buy a pack of colouring pencils then its a fun time wasting activity product to keep on your coffee table or desk to use as an alternative to doodling on a pad of paper!
I love all of The Oatmeal's books and this one is no different but it does have the bonus of being a colouring book for your self or for your kids (maybe) if you or anyone else are bored and want something to do!
Well worth buying and also check out his other books for some fantastic comic strips and drawings!

Beautiful and engaging. It's nice to have something so different for colouring in. As much as I love the intricate mandala-style colouring books, sometimes you just want a giant robot head to colour in. Fewer fine lines, a lovely and engaging narrative, an adorable illustrations. I'm really happy with this and recommend it to anyone who wants the therapeutic benefits of colouring without too much focus required on tiny little segments in a fancy pattern.
