Why does my BenQ PD monitor not look bright enough?
“Uniformity Compensation” is enabled by default to ensure consistent brightness and color across the screen. To achieve this, the monitor’s maximum brightness is slightly reduced.
Can I increase the brightness?
Yes. You can go into the OSD menu and turn off “Uniformity Compensation” to unlock the monitor’s maximum brightness.
What happens if I turn off Uniformity Compensation?
Brightness will increase, but screen uniformity may slightly decrease. This is usually fine for everyday use, but for color-critical work, it’s recommended to keep it enabled.
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Learn more how customers reviews work on AmazonI was a bit worried to have this delivered but i was wrong, delivery was great. The product: blew my mind on how good it is. This is my first Benq monitor and imI have to say i am glad i bought this. The image quality and overall of the monitor are feel premium. Ill be testing it in depth but i have a feeling it will not disappoint.
I really enjoyed the monitor and like the KVM capabilities. Brightness and color is amazing. My only complaint is that after two weeks of use, there’s a stuck pixel. See video.
Don't ever even consider purchasing a BenQ monitor! Complete garbage. I spent a small fortune on this monitor since it seemed to have very good reviews. I have to say that when I was unboxing it, all of the parts appeared well engineered and very sturdy. Connecting it to my M4 Mac Mini and powering on was easy. At first, the image quality was very impressive at 5K if only a little too dim. After about 20 minutes of use, suddenly hundreds of vertical lines starting appearing (either white or multicolored). Rapidly the display became completely useless. No amount of rebooting the display or the computer could fix it. Tried switching between HDMI and Thunderbolt 4 cables, but same results. This was a massive disappointment. I've had other monitors that lasted 10 to 15 years without a single issue. Shame on BenQ.
This monitor (PD2730S) produces excellent display quality. The colors are wonderful. I do not have any testing hardware to calibrate but depend on other review sources and the included calibration data for my unit indicating the color accuracy is good. My unit has avg. delta E of .4982 on the report.
Although the unit does not have high brightness as say Apple Studio Display or others but for me, it is bright enough for doing photo editing work with only 25% brightness setting. That is plenty to my eyes.
5K resolution is great and it is perfect scaling for Mac users. Once you switch from lower resolution/pixel density display to this, there is no going back. All of the sudden your old pictures look much better from rich of details that I have not seen before and better colors. Text is crisp and easy to read.
It also covers many connectivity options - for display daisy chain (or use it for additional port) and many USB ports of which can be switched when connected to two computers or as expansion ports when connected to one computer. This is convenient for those who want to share two computers (e.g., Mac and PC) and for those who just use it for one computer for expanding USB ports. This might be a cost saving as well as space saving especially when connecting to computer that does not have many USB ports (e.g., Mac).
KVM function also work well. No issues switching back-and-forth between computers. USB ports under KVM are located under the display to the left. They can also be used for plugging in USB drive if needed as well. Although, this is a good arrangement to accommodate broader use cases but for switching keyboard and mouse, I prefer to have those ports at the back to hide cables to those devices for cleaner look. This is not really a flaw but my personal preference.
Note, there is one Thunderbolt port at the back for daisy chain to another display. It can also be used for USB device as well. However, it is not part of KVM switch.
The included puck is also handy especially when your work flows need frequent adjustments or for just plain KVM switch. It eliminates to use small buttons (which often hidden out of the way) and scroll to the item you need to change. Those buttons typically are located on the monitor frame to the side, under or behind which is cumbersome or inconvenient to reach as well as may cause slightly push the monitor off its angle/height settings or makes it wobble. Puck is useful for this. Its design also is aesthetically pleasing and looks premium. Its size is not too big or too small.
The construction is solid. The base is strong and broad with good proportion to the size of the monitor (as opposed to smaller which makes monitor looks like it has a small foot). There is no wobble at all. The base looks like it was made from aluminum. I prefer this flat base as opposed to monitor that has "V-shape" leg. Flat base does not waste space. You can put items on it. You can't put anything on the legs of V-shape leg base.
Although this monitor is a bit higher price than some in this segment but for its display quality, the included accessories and functionalities, it is a good value for long term investment. Normally monitor last many generations than computers it connected to, at least for me.
good quality monitor heavy stand
I do a lot of press work. When compared to the printed material .... This monitor is DEAD ON for color accuracy! I recently had a $2500 LG Model 27MD5KL-MD 5K unit that this unit replace. This tops the LG. I also compared this to the high end Apple monitor , and for the money, this is a real winner. The stand is sturdy and it raises and tilts great. The case is all plastic which most likely saved production costs, however I do not move it from place to place, so I am GOOD wth the build. All of the connection cords were included. I cannot understand why this was not a 5 star rating on line. That was my only reservation with making my decision but I also knew that Amazon would take it back if it was not to buy liking. I think I will buy a second one too!
Box arrived worse for wear and factory seal broken. Appears to be a refurb or previously returned. Power cord already unfurled and the monitor's protective shipping cover barely affixed. Color calibration card missing.

Un monitor espectacular, cumple con lo que promete muy contenta con mi compra.
I've been using this thing for a while now and i've worked it out. Its a well built device with one major DESIGN FLAW, the limited the brightness of the screen. At night it looks great, during the day on max brightness it is less bright than my cheapest 200aed old monitor. Its a deliberate firmware decision and ridiculous. Apparently its to get true colours, but from a usability perspective this is ridiculous.
There is a setting PIP (picture in picture), that once select the skips this firmware constraint and suddenly makes it hugely brighter. This hack can be made permanent by setting the monitor in 'dual' mode. For this kind of money it shouldn't need hack and work around to configure it.
I almost sent it back.

The PD2730S is a dream monitor for professionals! The stunning 5K resolution delivers ultra-sharp detail, while 99% AdobeRGB and sRGB color accuracy ensure every design, photo, and video looks exactly as it should. HDR10 adds depth and vibrance to visuals, and the eye-care technology makes long working sessions comfortable. I’m using it with my Mac, and the compatibility is flawless — true plug-and-play with perfect color reproduction. The build is premium, the stand is fully adjustable, and it looks elegant on any desk. Best of all, the KSA version comes with a full 3-year BenQ warranty, giving complete peace of mind. If you want a professional-grade monitor with excellent Mac support and solid after-sales service, this is the one to get!
Love this BenQ 27” 5k monitor, I am into photography so I use it mainly for editing and the colours are amazing and it’s not hard on the eyes after hours of editing! I would definitely recommend!
