Here's a polymer clay dragon I just did. He's black sculpy studio in midnight, over a tin foil base, with seed beads eyes. He then has a brushed on layer of gunmetal pigment powder, and is sealed with sculpy studio polymer glaze in satin.

Another painted shirt [Jul. 14th, 2008|08:03 pm]

My sister saw the other shirt that I made for myself and begged to have one to go to camp with. So, like mine that I made I trimmed the neckline to become an 80's type off the shoulder shirt, trimmed the sleeves to cap length and trimmed about and inch and a half off the bottom. I then stretched the fabric by the cuts to make them roll over. Unfortunately, she's tiny, and the medium shirt swam on her. So I cut it up the back and tied it together, and it ended up fitting awesomely. I used puffy paints and a brush and my finger for all of the work on the front of the shirt. When it was done I added glitter paint to hers. (She's a sparkly type of girl)

80's style off the shoulder with stars shirt [Jul. 11th, 2008|01:30 pm]

This was once a normal black tshirt. I cut the sleeves off to cap length, cut the neck line to be off the shoulder, and trimmed some off of the bottom. Then I stretched the material where I had cut it, so that it would roll up and have that cute 80's look to it. After that, the rest of it I painted with puffy paint using a brush and my fingers. I tried to recreate a doodle that I had done in one of my sketch books.

Shrinky dink expermiments [Jul. 11th, 2008|10:53 am]

I haven't done shrinky dinks since it was a cut out strawberry shortcake book of them when I was like 6, so I was excited to try and experiment. I wanted to make the cherries into a necklace, but I had to reheat it because they curled, and it cracked by the whole. Oh well, live and learn. The gnome I am attaching a suction cup for so he can be in the window, and the koi is currently a fridge magnet. Sorry for the crappy pics, my digital camera is on the blitz so these are from my phone. The were all freehand sketched and then colored and shaded with sharpies. I have to find some of the hard glaze stuff to seal them with. Anyone else played with that stuff? Any recommends on which to use?

This was one of my first attempts at using bleach. I did a couple with a stencil that I made and spraying, I have to get those pics up later. This was the first with the clorox bleach pen. I free handed it from a little side sketch out of my boredom book lol. I loved working with the pen though! I can't wait till I have time to do more!!

[Feelin' |A bit hungover]
[Listenin' to |Gogol Bordello~ Madagascar]

I'm working on a layout for the DIY SQUAD- a new section in the publication with business cards 3.25" x 2", or 2"x3"  ads, devoted to THE HANDMADE.

Prices will be $24 and $36 respectively.. (but for guinea pigs it's free)

As soon as I have the layout for the rate sheet completed- it will be posted.

Your mission if you choose to accept it, send me your business cards, or a pdf to sales@collegecrier.com
(i.e Erica, Duckie)

I am open to suggestions.. or you can tell me to bugger off.
