Switching the PKGBUILD to webkit2gtk-4.1 compiles and seems to work without issue.
- 'webkit2gtk'
+ 'webkit2gtk-4.1'
I guess it would conflict with having webkit2gtk-imgpaste as an alternative as it provides webkit2gtk and not webkit2gtk-4.1.
ok so now that aur/webkit2gtk takes forever to compile, maybe it’s a good time to finally try to update dependency to webkit2gtk-4.1?
wasistlos builds just fine against webkit2gtk-4.1 which is still on the official repos. webkit2gtk was just removed.
Sadly the upstream repo was archived last month, I couldn't see any reason on issues or discussions. I hope a fork shows up soon, and even better if using webkitgtk since it seems webkit2gtk is sort of dead?
This is the best whatsapp for linux by far...
@deemon I am aware of that. It uses @xeco's GitHub, but he is not listed as maintainer. Only as the one who requested it. Either way, if the name has changed or a new package has been added to the AUR as a successor, this package should be removed, as it is no longer receiving any updates. Aside from this, it has been broken for a long time, with no response from the dev, either on GitHub or here, meaning that what @xeco says is likely the way it is, his involvement.
@bbuske you realize, that that this so called "WasIstLos own package in the AUR" by zxp19821005 uses this packages here submitter Xeco's github for upstream, right? just saying...
@xeco WasIstLos has its own package in the AUR.
@bpnrc I think I also marked it because the app is now renamed to WasIstLos. Technically, it's not out of date but the name has changed. I am unsure though if we can change the name of this one or create a new package.
@bpnrc It has not been updated for quite some time, it has several issues and requests on GitHub are not answered or processed. I was unaware, however, that I flagged it out of date. I did flag some packages, but I don't remember this one, because I am not using it anymore for quite some time now. That said, I removed the flag. Thanks, for making me aware.
