I'd like to completely remove my navigation bar! (I have a image map header with my nav links on it, so the bar needs to go)

If there is anyone still here, please help! I've gone through the memories and did not see the following two issues addressed (dear readers, I could very well be blind, however).

1. How do you change the colour of the SUBJECT LINE (currently boxer is made so that both the subject line and the text box are the same colour.)

2. Is there any way to reduce the amount of space that grows around the icon with each post made under a thread? Otherwise, the comments become bunched up quickly and are difficult to read. I am particularly interested in limiting the amount of space to the right of the user icon. For an example of the issue, please SEE HERE.

What I have long wanted to be able to do is re-arrange the order of the metadata. Instead of the order that The Boxer puts it in, I'd want it to go like this, if possible:

* Mood
* Music
* Location
* Custom Friends Group
* Tags

Now, I'm very CSS dumb, but I'm smart enough to copy/paste stuff into a theme layer if someone else knows how to accomplish this! Awhile back, I'd asked a savvy person on a Component community (who knew how to do this on Component) and she'd said something about it being hardwired into the coding for the layout (?). Because I don't understand CSS stuff much less the inner workings of LJ, I'm not entirely sure what she explained because I didn't understand anyway.

At any rate, that's what I'd like to do to The Boxer's metadata. Is it possible? And if so, how?

I recently got a paid account, so I don't know much about Boxer yet, and I apologize for that. I'm trying to get the top of my layout to look something like this, which I photoshopped. So far I have removed the mini-calendar and the journal title and subtitle.
If anyone can help me with this, that would be wonderful!

Edit: I figured out how to remove the usericon, and used this code to add the header underneath my navigation. However, I would still like to know if there is a way to get it to display inside one of the info boxes, so that is has a border around it as in the image above. Also, the boxes containing icons on my friends page are white, does anyone know how to change that?

subj for calendar and mini-calendar

I converted from component to boxer. I have a few problems. (Don't kill me lol)

• There is a space between my entry and the navigation and I can't seem to close it up. Is there a code for that?
• The navigation codes I have seen to make the boxes smaller does not seem to be working for me no matter what I try. I used a code a code I had seen here and it just won't get smaller.
• I saw in the entries there was a way to replace the default lock picture with your own lock image but I couldn't seem to get that to work either is that to be placed under the style css codes & a subject icon can be added by the title?
• Can an image be put in front of a subject as well?
• Can the tags be  moved from the bottom to the top? If you don't know what I mean refer to my website http://sinserious.com/wordpress the way wordpress is worked there is a subject and the bottom are the tags. Is there a way to do that or no?

I think a lot of my problems are just because I don't know exactly where to place them. I have been searching for a stylesheet that could possibly be tweaked but the only one I found was a simplified version.

acciofirebolt sent me her code, and I plan to alter it to my liking. I plugged it in in a new layer, the exact code that she took right from her layer, and it's not the same. Under the cut is a screencap of what mine looks like (ignore the weird font colour, I know how to fix that). I'm just curious about the icons. If you look at her journal, all of the userpics are on the left side, but kind of seperate to the entry. My questions are 1-How come it didn't do that automatically on mine when I pasted the code in, and 2-How can I get it to do that?

I was wondering how I would get a vertical links list under the navigation bar. I currently have a horizontal one (using a tutorial from this comm), but I want a vertical one and columns. For instance:

TITLE | TITLE | TITLE

Of course, there would be no seperating line, I just wanted to show you what I meant by columns and so that you could differentiate each one (since LJ squishes it together)

Any sample code: If you need me to post my horizontal code, I will, but I don't see the need for it.

Thanks to digging through the community, I figured out how to change the comment icons on my regular/friends views. But, I was wondering, is there a way to change them on the actual comment page? They are still all the default icons, and I would like to have them match the rest of my layout, or at least figure out how to center them.

While working on my Boxer codes earlier, I realized that I would like to change the cursor. I know exactly which one I want, but the problem is I don't know how to go about changing it. I took a look at LJ's 👁 Image
howto community, but all I could find is how to change the cursor for a cascading style sheet. Any ideas?

Problem areas:
I'm basically a n00b at the whole custom layout thing, but I'm giving it a try. After lots of trial, error, and creative swearing, I have my layout very nearly to where I was aiming (will set my sights higher once I feel a little more confident). However, I've run into two problems I haven't been able to fix:

1. When I was using The Boxer, my layout had little pushpin icons to the right of the comment/reply/memory/edit icons at the bottom of each entry. They were for tracking entries. When I made this layout (directly from Boxer source, without deleting anything), the pushpins went away, and I miss them. Does anyone know how to get them back? EDIT: Info on my own attempts under the cut.

2. I want bold, italic, and underlined text to be a different color from the rest of the text in my entries. This entry seemed like it was going to help me out, but I have put that code in the comments in every place I thought it could possibly go (one place at a time, of course) and so far, nothing.

I have a problem with my archive page. When you click on any of the links on my archive page, the colour of the links change to the background colour. I've looked through the community and can't find an answer, and have also looked through my code and couldn't find anywhere where I might be able to change this!

I've been looking through community tags for hours, but to no avail. The Boxer layout is nice, but I really like the overrides this community is using. I've also seen this same style used on other journals. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to go about getting my journal to look the same. I was wondering if there was a code I could (mostly) cut and paste, since I'm wholly S2 inept.

A couple of questions...I browsed through the memories and I didn't see anything about either of these so...'ere goes.

1.) I'm using Aeval and Kunzite's revised Boxer layout, and noticed it no longer displays the number of comments for an entry. How would I get that to show up again?

2.) Is there a way to change the "User Info" to another word? And/or the spacing in the nav bar?

Hi. I'm kind of a luddite so your help is much needed and would be much appreciated.

(1) Is there any way I can get my customized comment page to show the userpic I selected for the entry without selecting "display userpic with recent entries"? A friend told me that her layout (Smooth Sailing) has an option called "usericon visibility" and it lets her "show icons on all pages except the recent entries page". I was wondering if that could be done for The Boxer.

(2) Is there a way I can add another row in between the one that contains my username and the one that contains my userpic/links/calendar?

So I've got 3 problems with my current Boxer layout...

1. I've got a big box under my header which is supposed to have my userpic but it's completely blank. I just wanna take the whole thing off but can't seem to find the code to do it.

2. On my flist the bar on the left with the userpics is white. It's the color I want on my journal but white on my flist.. *frustrated*

3. Background on my dates is black. Can't find the code for it at all to change it to another color.

Promise I have read all the memories regarding comments and can't find what I am looking for, one close to the solution but not exactly what I need!!! Soooooooo the Newbie needs help....
I really don't know why I tried to customize my journal as I really know almost nothing about html!!!

Anyway, a friend "gave" me the code to add a header and things were great (for a while).....

My problem/question is that on my entries and on my friends pages there is no icon (function) to reply (ie the pencil and paper), only to view comments!
I need that back (to say the least) and also is it possible to customize what "functions" are at the bottom of entries? Currently I have comment, back to top, memories and edit entry. I would like to have comment, reply, memories, track.
I have allowed comment from everyone and don't think I have ticked the "wrong boxes" anywhere else, but who knows maybe I have!!!

The code I have is behind the cut, any ideas on where I have gone wrong or how to fix this? I am sure it is very simple and I will be embarrassed when I get the answer but for now but I don't know how to rectify it!! ANY help GREATLY appreciated ♥ :)

Hi,

I have hopefully a quick and easily solved problem.

I'm using this in the CSS of my theme layer to change my security and user icons. I tried using this but it just gives me errors, or makes my layout wonky by moving the date and time (which i have centered) to the right of my jounral. No matter what I do, the CSS won't change my security icon. It works fine for the user gif though.

Can anyone help me figure out why this doesn't work?
