About the Program
Based at the top-ranked Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, this master's program can be completed in one year and allows you to immerse yourself in research and gain valuable experience organizing, visualizing and analyzing data for health applications. Our flexible program will allow you to home in on specialty areas such as genomics and bioinformatics, health care analytics and social and behavioral science.
What to Expect
The classroom portion of our program includes 31 credits of coursework, and you can specialize in one of our diverse tracks:
- Generalist
- Genomics and bioinformatics
- Health care analytics
- Social and behavioral science
If you choose the full-time option, you'll spend fall and spring semester taking courses and summer semester working as an intern or in a practicum. Faculty mentors will help guide your course of study and you will gain practical experience through a faculty mentored practicum or mentored internship.

Beyond the Classroom
You'll complete a faculty-mentored practicum or a mentored internship off campus in your third semester. Our faculty have connections to health systems, research institutes, and biotech companies in the region and across the country, and our students' internships often turn into full-time jobs. CWRU’s Enhancing Research and Industry Career Horizons Program (EnRICH) also provides additional career guidance and support.
