About the Program
Considering a career change to nursing? If you already have an undergraduate degree in a field other than nursing, this master's degree program will give you practical experience and coursework enabling you to become a registered nurse and pursue your dreams for advanced practice. Nationally ranked, the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing has partnered with leading healthcare providers in Cleveland that allow you to gain experience working with top clinicians. Our partnership with the Cleveland Clinic includes our state-of-the-art Health Education Campus, where you'll learn how to provide patient-centered care and prepare for your future as an RN.
What to Expect
You’ll complete 72 credit hours of courses over four semesters and be qualified to sit for the RN licensure exam upon graduation.
Students admitted to the MN program are accepted into the MSN program as well – no need to reapply. Apply the 15 credits you’ve already earned to complete your MSN specialty, or choose to pursue your DNP or PhD degree.

Beyond the Classroom
You will start providing nursing care in a hospital setting in your first week of the program. In addition, during your first semester you will work collaboratively with students in medical, dental and physician assistant programs to learn about the importance of team-based health care delivery. In your second year, you will rotate through clinical experiences in various specialties at Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals of Cleveland or MetroHealth Medical Center.
