At Novant Health, weโre focused on building a healthier future for everyone โ from the communities we serve to the team members who deliver care every day. Supporting students now is key to developing the workforce of tomorrow. Through our partnership with Clasp, weโre helping new nurse anesthetists repay a portion of their student loans, with the goal of expanding this benefit to other roles in the future. By easing financial burdens early, weโre fostering loyalty, engagement, and a strong foundation for long-term success.

Itโs totally changed the game for how we both recruit and keep our people. We turned on Clasp offering $25-36k over the course of five years for any new clinician in PT, OT, SLP. We turned that on in September of last yearโฆand within a month, we had 25 candidates in places where we were having trouble getting two or three applicants over the course of several months. Since then, in only a few months we have had 54 candidates become employees. In our Scholars Program, where we take our current employees and skill them to DPT or OTD, we have 41 people that will be able to go back to school (or are currently going back to school) with $129k of financial support. In a year to two years, we will have those folks starting again as clinicians where we donโt have to invest in the recruiting costs and the waiting. We know exactly when theyโre going to start. We already know that theyโre good employees because theyโve been with us already for at least a year. So overall, itโs really solved a big chunk of our talent pipeline in a space where we previously were hoping that we would see a few resumes float across per month. So yeah, definitely, definitely a game changer on our end.

ยน Program selection is not guaranteed. If qualified, selected, and employed by a participating employer for a specified employment term, the employer will pay back up to a specified amount toward the studentโs eligible, synced student loans in installments via the Clasp platform. In case of voluntary employment termination or termination with cause, failure to meet the terms of the studentโs sponsorship agreement, or in the event the student chooses to leave the program at any time, the student is responsible to pay any remaining outstanding amount. The student is personally responsible for the financial obligations under their loan agreement(s). Any agreement between the student and their employer sponsor is entirely separate from their loan obligation(s) and will not in any way offset their obligations to their lender unless payments are made by them or any other party on their behalf.
