Hello, i do have some artists that are placed weirdly on the artist list, i'll give you an example

i have a folder with all the doctor who theme songs plus remixes, and they are organized with "Various Artists" as album artist tag, then the author of the song/theme as artist and Doctor Who as album artist sort

in this folder there is also a remix from electronic group Orbital, which is tagged in the same way (Various Artists, Orbital and Doctor Who)

with this, all my orbital records, are showed in Doctor Who, despite being tagged as just orbital in either artist and album artist

if i remove that one single song from them in the doctor who folder they will show up correctly at the O letter

now, there might be other example of this but i cannot be sure about, and that was the most evident as i couldn't find orbital anymore

any hint to solve this?

Strange, it's probably another edge case with the database I haven't considered.

I'm going to be pretty busy for the next week or so (bunch of assignments for university due soon) and don't have time to look into this atm, but I'll keep you posted once I have time again.

Okay I've decided going to hold off on debugging this for a bit, because I've been working on redoing the database and it would be easier to test any fixes with that version, so I'm going to wait until 0.10.4 is out and then try to get a dev flatpak repo set up to make it easier for people to download development versions for testing.

That way instead of sending me audio files or me attempting to create some files with the same organization to reproduce issues on my end, people can just download the dev version and test it directly on their library, which I think would be a much easier way of testing things.

I've just released a beta for 0.11.0 which made some significant changes to how music is parsed/organized so hopefully it fixes this issue. You can try it by downloading it from the releases page, and let me know if it improves anything. (Or does something else weird instead) If it does work that would be great, but even if not I should be able to debug and fix issues like this much faster now that this beta is out and I've got the new database/library mostly finalized.
