this is a community for all of those that live for punk & hardcore. those of you who have been overwhelmed with emotion while watching a band or have dropped the needle to the beginning of a record over and over again. for those of you who have felt that intangible feeling that the hardcore community has to offer and want to share it with others. you know who you are and you know why you're here.
politics and diy punk and hardcore are inherently aligned. however, please use discretion when announcing political content. this community is meant for discussion and not for political event announcements. please keep political discussions within the realm of relation to diy punk and hardcore. this is not a place to debate politics.
please do not announce shows unless they are of particular importance. again, the reason being is that this is for discussion on diy hardcore and punk and posting of shows that a lot of the members have no use for just clutters things up. you should be able to find local communities for promoting your shows, they are all over the place!
we will be looking for more moderators as we want to have this be a more collectively run community. we'll let you know when we are looking and hopefully we can pick from the users who have posted in and supported the community.
THE RULES: 1 - this place is a safe community for everyone. if there is any speech that is used to degrade a group of people, you will be banned. it may seem harsh but in a group that is purportedly "progressive", we are tired of putting up with people that have no comprehension of community and acceptance and tolerance within that community.
2 - there are no rules. respect people's opinions. stop and think before you post and LISTEN to what others are saying. always be ready to admit your fault and learn from it. we're all human! name-calling and shit-talking will not be tolerated
-------------------------
this is not a place to talk about who sold out and how much they "suck". if you want to have an intelligent conversation on the merits of diy and at what point one becomes separated from the diy community, then feel free. just don't post "xxx band has sold out!" it serves no purpose and is unnecessary clutter.
awesome! thanks so much for taking part and if you want to see anything added to this info section, let me know! i'll be adding helpful links as soon as i can. just want to get this off the ground!
