CalFresh

The CalFresh Program (formerly known as Food Stamps) improves people's nutrition in low-income households by increasing their food-buying power so that they can purchase sufficient food to meet their household's needs.

Have you been approved for CalFresh?

Keeping your benefits is easy! Just follow these three steps:

Step 1: Report income when it goes over your Income Reporting Threshold (IRT).

Step 2: Submit your SAR 7 timely

Step 3: Renew your benefits by calling the DPSS Renewal Line

Restaurant Meals

Restaurant Meals is a CalFresh Program that allows you to use your Golden State Advantage (EBT) card to purchase prepared meals from participating restaurants.

H.R. 1 CalFresh Policy Changes

House of Representatives (H.R.) 1 was signed into law on July 4, 2025, and makes significant changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), locally known as the CalFresh Program. Learn more about these changes.

Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Card

If you are eligible for CalFresh assistance, you will receive an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) debit card. You can use your EBT card to purchase food items at participating grocery stores, order grocery online for pick up or delivery at participating grocery stores, and participating Farmers' Markets.
