Of Montreal's members are interested in finding a different way to look at a pop song. In this case, the group takes a meek approach, sneaking up on the melody surreptitiously and capturing it unawares. The instrumentation is equally low-key, using just guitar/bass/drums and mild, double-tracked vocals. Of Montreal is clearly influenced by `60s songsmiths such as the Byrds or even the Mamas And The Papas; the group's songs are all sweet pop ditties, as suitable for campfire-singing as stage performance. The songs also conjure up an innocence lacking in a lot of current music.

who has the new dressy bessy album? what do you think about it?

Its pretty good so far. I have only listened to it once, so i can't give it a real good review, but it is very catchy and nice at this point.

hi, i'm diane. dressy bessy kind of just came up out of no where for me. its kind of a funny story actually, my friends and i were in a used CD shop and my friend was like "dressy bessy!?!, what a lame name!" and i was like "uh no!" and then i just popped the cd out of it's case and listened to it in the store (there was a little cd player thing, it was cute) and suddenly, "I saw Cinnamon" came on, and it was magic. i skipped through a few songs and i heard "Flower Jargon" it was awesome. so, i purchased the CD, and googled the band. as it turns out, they sing a song in my FAVORITE MOVIE (but i'm a cheerleader)! i just about exploded.
that was about a month and a half ago. and now i have "Pink hears Yellow Moons" as well as "Sound go round". i love this band...
also, does anyone have the But I'm A Cheerleader soundtrack?hey don't make one, but i also know that some people have assorted tracks around... i have a few myself that i'm willing to share, as well as "Sew True", the Tattle Tale CD.

so i need your help! i put this song of theirs on a mix cd, and i don't have the title of it written down. and i googled bits of the lyrics, and checked ALL the lyrics on their site... and i just couldn't find anything... but if you know the name of the song that goes...

there's a girl in a house on a hill near the bottom of the block...

that's how the begining goes. PLEASE tell me the title of this song, and i'll just love you forever and ever..

and also, if you could point me in the direction of the full lyrics to the song, i'd be so greatful.

hey, i'm new to this community and a new fan of Dressy Bessy thanks to the movie .
Unfortunately, though, the movie does not have an official soundtrack... and I was really hoping to give that to a friend of mine as a suprise for her (she also loves the music). I have been trying for weeks on Kazaa to get the files, but still no luck.

So, I was wondering if any of you fine ladies (and gentlemen!) would be so kind as to send me any of the following songs (mp3 format) that you may have.
