CIT VERICASH is a fintech platform and division of CIT Global, a technology services group founded in Toronto, Canada in 1993.[1] It provides a configurable digital financial services platform for banks, mobile network operators, financial institutions, and fintech companies. The platform is used in emerging markets, primarily in Africa.[2]

History

[edit]

In 2011, CIT Global established the CIT VERICASH division to develop and deploy digital financial services infrastructure for institutional clients.[3] Between 2014 and 2015, the VERICASH platform was launched with its first banking partners.[4]

In 2024 and 2025, CIT VERICASH received industry awards from the Africa FinTech Forum and Finnovex West Africa.[5][6][7]

As of 2026, the platform operated in more than 25 African markets.[8]

Geographic presence

[edit]

CIT VERICASH focuses on financial inclusion and digital transformation in emerging markets, with deployments primarily across African markets.[9]

Regional operational offices are located in Lagos (Nigeria) and Nairobi (Kenya), with an Africa Centre of Excellence headquartered in the Nasr City Free Zone in Cairo (Egypt).[10] The company also supports cross-border financial service corridors.[11]

Partnerships

[edit]

CIT VERICASH has worked with CWG Plc on the deployment and management of digital banking platforms in multiple African markets.[12][13] The platform has also been deployed in collaboration with Bluechip Technologies, a regional systems integrator, to support digital banking, mobile wallet, and payment services in East Africa.[14]
