    • Primitive Gaelic or Archaic Gaelic, the oldest known form of the Gaelic languages
    • Old Gaelic or Old Irish, used c. AD 600–900
    • Middle Gaelic or Middle Irish, used c. AD 900–1200
    • Classical Gaelic
