Mobile Tyre Shop is an Australian mobile automotive service company founded in 2012 by Travis Osborne. The company provides on-site tyre fitting and related services and operates across multiple Australian states. [1] It has received national media coverage for its 2015 appearance on Shark Tank Australia and for subsequent capital raisings.

History

[edit]

Mobile Tyre Shop was established in Victoria in 2012. Founder Travis Osborne developed the concept after observing mobile tyre services operating in the United States. [2] In 2015, Osborne appeared on Shark Tank Australia Season 1, where two investors agreed on-air to invest A$250,000 for a 10 per cent equity stake, valuing the company at approximately A$2.5 million. [3] Subsequent to the filming of the episode, both parties chose not to proceed with the investment. [4] Media reports stated that the television appearance resulted in a substantial increase in customer enquiries. [5] Following its initial operations in Melbourne, the company expanded into additional Australian states.[6]

Business model

[edit]

Mobile Tyre Shop operates a mobile service model in which technicians travel to customer-selected locations to perform tyre fitting and related services. The company expanded through the recruitment of independent operators, increasing geographic coverage without relying on fixed retail premises.[7]

Investment and financing

[edit]

In 2025, the company was reported to be undertaking a pre-IPO capital raising round to acquire more service vehicles due to increase in demand, related to the growth in electric vehicles. [8][9] The company was also referenced in broader Australian technology capital-raising reports during that period.[10][11]

In June 2025, Mobile Tyre Shop secured a A$5 million investment from Sailun Group, a Chinese tyre manufacturer. The transaction reportedly valued the company at more than A$45 million at the time.[12]

In 2026, the Australian Financial Review reported that the company was pursuing their ASX-listing.[13]
