There is a consensus that in mainspace, interwiki links to Wikinews should only be made as per the external links guideline. This generally rules out the use of this template in the middle of articles. The relevant discussion can be found at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)/Archive 152#Restrict Wikinews links in articles.

Usage

As supported by Wikipedia:Wikimedia sister projects, this template may be used to add a Wikinews link to a Wikipedia article. Note that this template generates an InterWikimedia link and is not intended to represent sources for Wikipedia articles.
