Biography
[edit]Marc Baronnet is a Franco-British lawyer (avocat), and a former judge, holding the rank of president in the French administrative courts and administrative courts of appeal. He is an alumnus of the École nationale d'administration, and a graduate in political science (Sciences Po Paris) and in private law (Paris 2 University).
His interests include French law, in particular public law, but also the law of arms, and living heraldry as intangible cultural heritage. In 2014, he founded « Héraldique française », which has become the second largest heraldic group on the internet and the largest francophone group, with over 17.800 members. He is also a member of the SFHS (2018), of the Heraldry Society of Scotland (2020), of the White Lion Society (2021), and of the Lord Lyon Society (2022).
He has received the bronze National Defence Medal with “warships” bar and the bronze Medal for Voluntary Military Service for his service in the French Navy, and the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. He is a member of the French branch of the Sons of the American Revolution.
