Oceano is an American Deathcore band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 2006. The band currently consists of vocalist Adam Warren, Guitarist Andrew Mikhael, Drummer Daniel Terchin and bassist Jason Jones.

The band signed to Earache Records in 2008 and subsequently released their debut album, Depths, on April 7, 2009. The band is well known for its controversial promo pictures, which led to their banning from playing in several clubs across the United States.

History

[edit]

The band was founded in 2006 by guitarist Jeremy Carrol. Carrol gathered Chicago guitarist Andrew Mikhail, vocalist Adam Warren, drummer Daniel Terchin and bassist Kevin Colabuono to form their first full line-up in 2007. Oceano signed to Earache Records in 2008 after gaining a notable local following. Oceano recorded their full debut album Depths in late 2008, releasing it worldwide on April 7, 2009. Shortly afterward, Carrol and Colabuono left the band for personal reasons. Jason Jones has since replaced Colabuono on bass.

Oceano has been recognized for their uniquely brutal musical style, and for having a reputation as a particularly violent band onstage. In addition, the band was banned from numerous clubs in late 2008 due to controversial promotional pictures, depicting the band dressed as butchers, brandishing knives over bodies of seemingly murdered women.
