News in simple Latvian: 2nd April, 2026

Every evening at 21:00, Latvian Radio 1 broadcasts a five-minute summary of the day's news stories in a simplified language format called Ziņas vieglajā valodā ('News in simple language').
It's ideal to help you hone your Latvian comprehension and pronunciation skills (as well as demonstrating that 'ordinary' news reports are often over-long and over-written).
You can listen to the simple news via the Re:Play interface, via the Latvijas Radio app or via the link above. We'll post examples here on LSM's English pages the following day.
