Dinosaur Jr's gear stolen! Please help! [30 Aug 2006|05:33pm]

I just got word of this -- if you know ANYTHING about this, or think you might know someone who can help out in any way, please do. There is almost nothing more infuriating to me than a band getting their gear stolen -- and for it to happen at one of the first shows of their tour...UGH! Please, if you are a dealer or pawn shop owner, take a few seconds to read this list of gear and let them know if you've seen anything come your way similiar.

Listed below is a list of gear that was stolen out of the Dinosaur Jr trailer last night (Tuesday 8.29.06) outside of their hotel in Long Island City, NY. We would appreciate spreading the word and passing this list around in hopes of recovering their gear. Feel free to send this list to any and all band, tour and production managers, guitar freaks, touring personnel, venues, musicians and or thieves that you think could help us.

If anyone has any information about this gear, please call Brian Schwartz at 303.998.0001 or Bart Dahl at 212.777.0922. Thanks

Going on a trip to Montreal tomorrow. 6 hours.
So, anyone have some good driving songs?

I have a few Pearl Jam, like MFC, Rearviewmirror, and In My Tree.
Any other suggestions?

Is anyone planning on going to any of the upcoming Dinosaur Jr. shows? I just got my tickets for the Toad's Place gig, and I'm pretty excited. If you didn't know they were on tour, their MySpace is up to date with all the info -- they're hitting mostly the east coast here in the US, and then a few gigs in Canada at the beginning of next month. Hope to see some of you there!

so, what do you think happened to the hardcore Riot Grrrls? Why did they get replaced by whiny Emo Bois?

Personally, I'm on a quest to find what is left of the RG contingent... I think it's sad there's no one real tough and what-what for little tomboy girls to look up to anymore. When I was still formulating my opinions of stuff way back in high school, we had Courtney Love and Hole, The Breeders, L7, Bikini Kill, Babes in Toyland, Throwing Muses, Belly, 4 Non Blondes, and later stuff like Garbage, Kittie, etc. Who do young girls get to look up to now? Britney, Christina, Jessica, and Mandy? Oh yeah, great aspirations there...

What do you guys think? I'm open to all suggestions, no matter how silly!

A forthcoming Alice In Chains tribute helmed by Mudvayne frontman Chad Gray's Warner Bros. imprint label Bullygoat Records has been heavily rumoured. The effort, said to carry the title "We Pay Our Debt Sometimes: A Tribute To Alice In Chains", is slated to feature contributions from a wealth of rock/nu metal acts.

Moreover, studio musicianship for the outing is said to largely be overseen by the most recent Alice In Chains rhythm section, consisting of bassist Mike Inez and drummer Sean Kinney.

The very tentative list of tracks reportedly set to look as follows:

# Mudvayne - "Bleed The Freak"
# Cold - "Junkhead"
# Cardboard Vampyres - "Don't Follow"
# Static-X - "Again"
# Breaking Benjamin - "Would?"
# Patrick Lachman / Jerry Cantrell - "Sea Of Sorrow"
# Aaron Lewis - "Am I Inside"
# Bloodsimple - "Rain When I Die"
# Puddle Of Mudd - "I Stay Away"
# Mark Lanegan / Mike McCready - "Frogs"
# Adema - "Nutshell"
# Audioslave - "Rooster"
# Zakk Wylde / Jerry Cantrell - "Heaven Beside You"

Now, this might not be such a pressing thing to those of you that still listen to the good music but don't remember when it came out...

I just realised that the only time I get to hear the songs that I know and love is when they put them on those flashback times. That's scary to me. To think, I'm nowhere near thirty yet and all of my fave music is already oldies!

Am I the only one who is saddened to turn past the Classic Rock station and hear Alice in Chains, or Pearl Jam? Does it concern anyone else when they realise those songs they know all the words to are (for the most part) ten years old or more, but they seem like they just came out yesterday because you can still remember when they did?

You know what this means? Soon enough we're going to have 90s stations like they have 80s stations for the people we thought were old and out of it because they were listening to crap when music was explodingly good all around them... and we're going to be them. Wow. Being in your twenties was never meant to be old...

I have just made a new rating community called 👁 Image

. It's for people who are really into music and want to also flaunt their good looks. The just have to write up an application and are obiviously automaticly accepted.

I am also looking for MODS to help me out. You can apply for that position by chatting me up on AIM (sn: vacant toy).

This was x-posted on most of my communities. Sorry, guys!

So I was reading about how the new Garbage album, Bleed Like Me, was coming along, and how Dave Grohl is playing on a track or two, and I happened to stumble upon this great little piece of a site that has a Garbage interview on the making of the entire album, track by track. It's great.

http://garbage.gffn.com/downloads/?ref=filter

Hope that isn't supposed to be a secret site, or something, only for contest entries... OH WAIT! That's right, there's a contest to enter to win a trip to see Garbage, and/or a copy of their new album (I promise, I am not a like, spam-thingy, I just really like Garbage), but I don't have that website, I'm sure it's under Geffen somewhere.

Ok, I'm done now... ^_^
