Hi,

Which of the followings is appropriate English:

1) He has made a good progress in writing and speaking English.

2) He has made good progress in writing and speaking English.

Thanks
You could say he has made a significant improvement, or he has made good progress.

Thank you so much, Tepatria, for your confirmation. You have a great day.

Sometimes an uncountable noun, with OF, can be used with an article; then can I say?:

-It's a very slow progress of the disease?

That doesn't sound right with the indefinite article although I can't point to a strict problem of grammar. You could certainly say:

progress of this disease is very slow.

Perhaps 'progression' would be better in both cases.
