Dear Native Speakers,

Please, help me to understand why do we use 'with' after the the word 'acumen'? Is it a rule and is it used this way in all circumstances?

Having great acumen with technology, he could get the position he desired.

I've picked it up from an American English Native Speaker (it was in his email to me), so it is a correct usage. That is why I'm asking Native Speakers for their opinion and, if possible, to shed some light on this type of usage of the word 'acumen' 👁 Smile :)
