Asia Studies

Hi,

I was looking at a job posting at an NGO’s official website, and they posted something related to ‘Asia Studies’ instead of Asian Studies. The phrase appeared again in the descriptions.

Is this expression correct? I’ve never heard of it but maybe it’s something native people say...?

Thanks!
It is not wrong to use Asia as an attributive noun like that, but I don't recall anything similar in more familiar expressions, and I would expect to see "European Studies" rather than "Europe Studies" for both an academic subject and a series of case-studies. What does "Asia Studies" refer to in the NGO's website?

They are looking for a research associate in ‘Asia Studies’ to help with a fellow. I’ve been quite confused as to whether it’s a typo or not...
What's NGO?
Sorry, I meant to say nonprofit. I don’t know why I keep typing NGO (non governmental organization, I think) instead

An academic subject then. It could be a typo, but "Asia Studies" is not obviously wrong, just unusual.

Thank you! I’ll just use their expression then.
