hi !

I can't translate "aspirational" in the context of the text I gotta translate.

"The newfangled lights are, worst of all for an aspirational readership, unsuitable for chandeliers".

could you help ?
Peut-être simplement "exigeant" (littérallement "qui a de grandes attentes"). Cela suppose un public qui veut s'élever dans la société... Pas facile !
