I know what "attack" and "false" mean but "attack as false" doesn't make sense to me as a whole. Would you please be kind enough to clarify it?

I described him as dishonest. (I described him, saying he was dishonest.)
To attack something as false... (to attack something, saying it is false.)

You can use as in front of an adjective to say how someone or something is regarded or described.

They regarded manual work .
His teachers described him .
