Authority

Hi every one,

I would like to ask you the meaning of the word "authority", below is the context:

"Thereโ€™s no authority in Bitcoin because Bitcoin is not about authority. Bitcoin is the antidote to authority"

The sentence above is from an article on the Hackernoon, here is the link:

Bitcoin Cash is NOT Bitcoin โ€“ Hacker Noon

Thanks and regards,

P/S: I know "authority" has many meanings but I can't find correct meaning in this context. I wonder whether it means "the right, power, or ability to control, command, or decide"
For some people with a naive political view, society is divided into an arbitrary, "them" and "us". "They" are the people who tell "us" what to do.

For many people, this originates with the authority of their parents over them and is generalised to teachers, government bodies and anyone who advocates abiding by rules. For most, this simplistic view doesn't persist beyond their teenage years.

"Bitcoin is the antidote to authority" is a typical immature slogan uttered by those who haven't thought things through and have no idea what they are talking about. It's effectively saying 'ordinary money' is invented by those nasty governments but Bitcoin is the invention of 'the people' and therefore inherently good.
