Hello👁 Smile :)

Tell me please, what is the word I should use instead "recieve" in this context:
I was leader of swimming and basketball teams in school and we received a lot of awards.
Thanks
There is nothing wrong with "received".
While you can receive an award, that's not usually not what happens with sports teams. The members of the swim team might win medals, the basketball team wins games, both teams could win a tournament, etc. What kind of "awards" do you have in mind?
I agree with Paul that there's nothing wrong with "received" in that sentence, Nastya — unless you spelt it "recved (see your first line): if so, perhaps that's why your teacher said it was wrong (?). But I find it odd that a teacher would say something is wrong without giving a reason ... Did he do that?

Myridon, I meant some goblets.
Wordsmyth, yes. He did that, and told us find our mistakes
I agree there is nothing wrong with "received", perhaps your teacher thinks it needs to be "won" - or is it possible he was pointing out a problem with the beginning of your sentence instead? ("I was leader of swimming and basketball teams" rather than "I was the leader of the swimming and basketball teams")
