basic income tax rate

Hi everyone !

I want to say basic income tax rate ... in french ! but it seems like a very long thing to say!! Can someone correct me if im wrong??

My sentence is ....

La trésorerie a dit que c’est la plus baisse taux de base de l’impôt sur le revenu depuis plus de 75 ans

Does this mean.... the treasury have said that it is the lowest standard rate of income tax for more than 75 years?

Are you trying to translate into French or into English ?
The French sentence is not correct. If you want to translate the English sentence which sounds correct, I would say:
" Le Trésor a dit qu'il s'agissait du taux d'imposition sur le revenu le plus faible depuis plus de 75 ans."

The translation of standard or (marginal ?) might depend on the tax rules of the country you are talking about.
