Did you try looking up "beacon" in dictionaries before posting? While a beacon can be a solid object with a light attached which warns of danger, it can also be used metaphorically to represent a person who gives guidance to another.
Dictionary.com gives two useful definitions for "beacon" which could be applied in this situation:
5.a person, act, or thing that warns or guides. 6.a person or thing that illuminates or inspires: The Bible has been our beacon during this trouble.
Merriam-Webster also gives a useful definition:
3 : a source of light or inspiration
I hope that helps.
