This appears to be some sort of sexist description, perhaps of an attractive woman, but I can't find a definition anywhere.
The context is this: the policeman is investigating a character called "the worm."
"Solo che "verme" prende sottobraccio un bel pezzo di berta mora, sale sulla 500 di lei e se ne vanno. Antonio Sarti è a piedi e non può seguirli. Resta sotto il portico, davanti alla porta dov'è uscita la berta mora; resta a guardare i due che si allontanano."
Here's what I make of it:"Except that "the Worm" is arm-in-arm with a nice piece of berta mora, gets into her [Fiat] 500 and off they go. Antonio Sarti is on foot and can't follow them. He remains under the portico, in front of the door that the berta mora came out of; he remains there, watching the two go into the distance."
Something like "little package" -- "a nice little package" -- might fit here, but there's nothing I can find about either "berta" or "mora" that helps make sense of it.
