This sentence puzzles me, "J'ai acheté des billets . On en fait tirer une de 1000$"

Something to do with tickets costing $1000? Tickets for a raffle with $1000 prize maybe?
You may be right but more context would certainly help.
OK - the complete context is:

"Ce soir, je suis allée avec une amie , visiter une exposition de courtes-pointes.

J'ai acheté des billets . On en fait tirer une de 1000$"

But I doubt if this helps much!
I'm sure it means 'I bought some tickets and there's going to be a draw for $1000', but I don't get the last bit.
