Bod

Hi.

In BE "bod" is a slang term to refer to a "person". A bit disrespectful.

But in this case, get the bod out of bed, it's clearly a whajjacallit, an apócope (there must be a term in English), ie. "body".
Or as in "s/he's got a great bod".
According to the WR dictionary, I meant to say:
It's an apocopated form of 'body'.

Thank you very much, I hadn't found it in the English-Spanish dictionary.
But according to the Merriam-Webster one it wouldn't be impossible that it meant "fellow" (tipo). In Spanish: "Es hora de sacar al viejo de la cama". (As: "Es hora de que salgas de la cama"). Who knows?
"........it's time to get the old bod out of bed", ¿me pueden decir qué significa?, no puedo dar más contexto 👁 Smile :)
.

Here in the U.S. it's used to mean a body, in this context one's own, so I would translate it as: "Es hora de sacar my viejo cuerpo de la cama"

Sorry, "...mi viejo cuerpo..."
Hi.

I agree. There are two possibilities.

"bod" is short for "body" (apocopated-eh!). "Get my old body out....."/"Get the fiambre out.......".

"Get the old person/bloke out.......". (cos' he can't do it himself ?)

Or is that three possibilities?

Ain't language wonderful! I agree with everybod.

Do you think it can refer to some sort of depression? (Because one person actually says to the other one: "... time for you to get the old bod out of bed.....". I don't know if the second person had been ill, or maybe depressed, or if it has other meaning).
Thanks 👁 Smile :)
