well, literally it just means: a good customer / client

I might say, "a good choice," "a good fit," or "a good candidate." In the specific case of Jean Dujardin, it sounds like he's also a good sport 👁 Smile :)

I mean "a good sport" in this sense:
be a (good) sport: (informal) be generous, cheerful and pleasant, especially in a difficult situation
which I think is in line with in Arundhati's post (#5) and the definition I gave above "personne qui se livre volontiers à une activité".

Jean Dujardin is always very funny, cheerful and enthusiastic when he's invited on a TV show to promote a new film (he's a bon client) so the media are always happy to invite him. Unlike other actors who find this sort of job a chore and look bored, ill-at-ease or intimidated (they aren't bons clients) and don't make for good viewing.
