What's the French word for the bug catching net catcher thing the boy in the picture is holding? Would my following words work?
Filet d'insecte
Receveur d'insecte

Or is there a single French word that describe this object? Thanks
The formal English is "butterfly net", even if it is used for catching dragonflies, or sometimes "aerial insect net" - for the former the French is "filet aux papillons".
"Filet à insecte" is really unusual.
Everybody will say "filet papillon" and not "filet papillons".

Even for catching pokemons.
"filet à insectes" is the technically correct term; I guess most natives would understand...
"filet à papillons" is more common.
(entomologie) filet fauchoir (destiné à la capture des insectes dans les zones herbeuses, mais aussi dans les arbres, arbustes, maquis, etc.)

filet troubleau (pour insectes aquatiques)
