capable enough

I would avoid the phrase “capable enough” altogether. Not only does it sound awful, but it strikes me as a bit of an oxymoron (since arguably there are no degrees of capability). All you really need to say is “how many Englishmen are capable of swimming the Channel?”. Note also that not everyone would know what you meant by Hoek van Holland. It would be better to use its English name.
"Swimming through" is not a natural use in English in that context. If you wanted to be more specific than lingo's answer you could say "swimming across". But it is a well-recognized use that "swimming the English Channel" means swimming across, from one side to the other.
