Topic question: 'Is the word "caputs" any offensive?'
Moved from title. Cagey, moderator

Can I use the word without being worried if whoever listens will find it offensive or not?

Here's an example:

After he read a news article saying that his favorite book author was murdered, he went caputs.

When using this word, I kind of wanna give it the same sense that the word "fuck" has. In the sentence above, caputs has the same meaning as "fucked up".

I listen to many podcasts where the participants use a lot of colloquialisms. The word "fuck" happens to be one of those words, as you might think.

Given this, sometimes, I need to use a curse word to convey what I want to. However, I don't want to come across as a rude English speaker.

Peace

I don't know the word "caputs". Where did you find it?
There is a word "kaput" but it doesn't have the meaning you are suggesting.
There may be a clique somewhere on the internet that uses the word caputs to mean fucked up. However it will not only not be offensive to people in general, but they will have no idea what you mean. Kaput is used to mean broken, wrecked, or even dead sometimes. By the way "wanna" - not a word you want to use in written communication- means "want to" not "one of." I'd suggest you stick to standard English until you have a better idea of how slang works.

I've heard this word on a podcast. JRE to be more specific.

There are some definitions of this word on Urban Dictionary. Some of 'em corroborate the sense that I gave to this word.
You may be thinking of this, which does have some overlap. It's informal but not a swear/offensive word like fuck.
Collins Concise English Dictionary
kaput/kæˈpʊt/ adj. (postpositive) informal ruined, broken, or not functioning Etymology: 20th Century: from German kaputt done for, from French être capot to have made no tricks (literally: to be hoodwinked), from capot hooded cloak

Thank you!

You're right I shall stick to the original.

Thanks!
What confused me was that both C and K have the same sound in English.

C doesn't always sound like K, but it does in words of Latin origin when it is followed by A. Most people will also pronounce it like K when it is followed by A in a word of unknown origin.

I know what you mean.
I wasn't talking about the sound of the letter C in general. I would be an idiot if that was case.
English is a strange animal, as far as pronunciation and how the words are rolled together.
Anyway. Thank you very much.
