I was wondering how to translate "chain letter" as in the annoying letter people send you via e-mail and ask you to send to x number of people... would it be "un lettre de chaine"?

Traduction quasi mot à mot pour cette expression.
Est aussi utilisé en français pour parler de ces innombrables courriels exigeant un renvoit à 10 autres personnes et menacent d'un fléaut si jamais la chaîne est brisée.

For having received tons of those, and an equal amount of "stop sending me chain letters" in French, the titles juste read "chaînes". For instance "arrêtez de m'envoyez vos chaînes" and we just get it thanks to the context.
