Chuck Episode 6 Versus the Sandworm, the minute around 3th minute

Boss to Chuck : There's a guy coming in here from corporate to interview you and Tang for the assistant-manager spot. Now, Tang has the charm of a prostate exam. For some reason, people seem to like you.

Can you explain the meaning of 'charm' here? I searched from the dictionary but the word's meaning seems different to me.
Tang has (all) the charm of a prostate exam: he's as charming as undergoing a prostate exam. In other words, not very charming at all.

Sorry, from here, I didn't understand what is the meaning of charm.

It's this definition: "a power of pleasing, as through beauty: The child actress displayed a lot of charm."
Charm is generally used in a positive way but I think in my quote there is a negative meaning in that word, can you explain this situation please? 👁 Smile :)

It's used positively, but ironically. Like "it's as much fun as having your head chopped off."
Our dictionary seems to imply strongly that charm relies on beauty. Dictionary.com has this:

1. a power of pleasing or attracting, as through personality or beauty:
charm of manner; the charm of a mountain lake.
2. a trait or feature imparting this power.

To be charming does not require being pretty, only having good manners.
It's not a negative meaning of the word – charm is still charm, that is how pleasant and appealing it is – it's just very, very low on the scale of charm.

Right, the WR definition is a bit too narrow.
Why does he use a charm of 'prostate exam', the word exam confused me, the charm of prostate seemed good to me, but I didn't understand the use of exam? And also he says 'for some reason people like you', does this mean Tang's that feature is a good thing, because I thought with the use of 'for some reason' the boss criticise Chuck a little bit.

A prostate exam is a medical examination of the prostate, which most people would regard as an unpleasant experience.

I think because Tang underwent a prostate exam before, they prefer Chuck, right?
So why with this sentence : 'For some reason, people seem to like you.' the boss criticizes Chuck, too?
This kind of sarcastic comment is common.

He's as funny as a screen door on a submarine.
He's as smart as a rock.
She's as beautiful as a mud fence.

No, it has nothing to do with whether Tang underwent an actual prostate exam. It's all metaphorical and ironic. The speaker doesn't like Tang because his personality is as unpleasant as undergoing a prostate exam.

"For some reason, people seem to like you" suggests that Chuck is more popular, but it's a bit of an insult, because it suggests that his popularity is surprising.
