Hi,
can anyone tell me about the usage of the word "condescend." A few examples of the usage would certainly of much help.
thanks
I think that use of the present participle, 'condescending,' as an adjective may be more common than use of the verb.
Example:
He treated me as if he were the ultimate expert and I happened to be a bumbling idiot, and that it was oh-so-nice of him to even speak to me at all. His condescending attitude infuriated me.
I also noticed that, as I was using the word, my vocabulary choice tended to be in a somewhat more formal register (= at a more formal level).
