From the book Oxford English Grammar Course by Michael Swan: And not can contradict the meaning of another negative word.
Example: I didn't say nothing - I said 'Hello'.

I don't get the meaning of the example above.
Person A: "I walked in the door and you said nothing to me."
Person B: "I didn't say nothing, I said 'hello'. You didn't hear me."
Does that help?
Person A: "I walked in the door and you said nothing to me."
Person B: "I didn't say nothing, I said 'hello'. You didn't hear me."
Does that help?
Can I take it in this was? "I didn't say anything?" OR "Didn't I say anything?"
No. The first means the opposite, and the second is a question.
"I didn't say anything" means "I said nothing".
"I didn't say nothing" means "I said something".

Clear now. I got it. I appreciate your help.
