Daisy chains

Hi, I was listening to Brain Damage by Pink Floyd. I did not understand, however, the meaning of the expression "daisy chains" in the beginning of the lyrics:

The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path

Probably, it is something about political alliances, but I am not sure about that. Could someone explain it, please?

Thanks!
Nothing so complicated. It's literal. It's in the Wordreference dictionary:
a garland made, esp by children, by threading daisies together

Yes, thanks! I was thinking about a metaphor, but the literal meaning makes sense! Thank you again!!!
