deuce

Hi

The guy looked around the interior of the place. A long, polished mahogany bar with stools in front that was set at one end, with a deuce of pool tables and a 1950s-era jukebox anchoring the other end.

Does "deuce" mean "two" here? There were TWO pool tables?
This is highly unusual. I've never seen 'deuce' used for two objects. The normal meaning is the value 2 at cards or dice. (It's also a euphemism for 'devil' in the exclamation 'what the deuce?') But perhaps people who habitually use this sort of bar and pool tables also transfer the meaning "2" from gambling to their surroundings.
