"So when I have a crummy day, I drift away and put 'em on"

What does "drift away" mean exactly? I kinda get the vibe.. it must be something like "I'm losing myself into doing something", isn't it?

but I don't know how the words "drift away" match that meaning. A lil help here
"Drift away" means to forget everything that is actually happening and think about something else, daydream, be happy. "Put 'em on" would, I'm assuming, be put on headphones and listen to music, so he's getting lost in the music and forgetting about his crummy day.
I assume this is song lyrics. Do you have the source of the quote?
"Stan" by none other than Eminem.
thanks 👁 Smile :)
I'm getting closer day by day (slowly though) mastering this language.
