emgy start per

I found it in a pay slip- there is a column 'miscellaneous' and in this column i found:
- pay frequency-monthly (which is obvious)
and "emgy start per - 0" - which I don't understand
Could anybody help me with that?
Yikes! Well, how about "Emergency start per - 0." Here's a reinforcement for "emergency," not that it has anything to do with pay slips. And although I have an idea that it's "emergency," I have no idea what that might mean.

Another thought: It might be a term in common use where you are... is there another company's finance department you can call and ask? You don't even have to know them: Just choose a big company and give them a call and ask for Finance. People can be surprisingly helpful to strangers with emergency requests. 👁 Smile :)
It's a shot in the dark but it could mean "Emergency start %", as in the rate of PAYE a person was paying tax at during the period before their forms (e.g. P45) were processed.

What country was the payslip issued in, as a matter of interest?
Since the amount is 0 here it isn't actually being used in this pay packet!

From the questions Monisia has asked I guess this is an Irish company. I've not come across "income levy" in any other context.
