Hello - I'm talking about colonisation - IN FRENCH (even though I just accidentally posted this in the Spanish forum, sorry!)
I've written....
...ont eu l’intention de civiliser les habitants du cet pays pour harmoniser avec leurs propres traditions, religions, comportements sociaux et bien sûr, leurs langues.
I want to now say, " This was often enforced through brutal violence."
Cet était forcé souvent avec la violence brutale?
This seems wrong to me. Any suggestions? many thanks
