Every weekday

Just confirming..I'm suddenly confused👁 Confused

Does "I go swimming every weekday" mean every day of the week except Sat+Sun? Thank you.
To some people it will. The dictionaries I just checked indicate that weekday is every day of the week except Sunday -- or Saturday and Sunday. So it's variable depending on the source you consult.

If it's important to be precise, you should use other words to make your meaning clear.
So if I want to say I go swimming every day of the week except Sat&Sun, what would be the precise way to say it?
I swim every day of the week except Saturday and Sunday is one way. 👁 Smile :)

Or, I swim every weekday and take Saturday and Sunday off.
Or, I swim five times a week... on weekdays.

Could this also work:
I go swimming every day from Monday to Friday.

Yes, that is quite clear.

I might add that weekday might be totally unambiguous in a given context. For example, in Australia no one would take Saturday as a weekday, and you might properly say that you swim every weekday.
