can i use the word "exigent" to mean demanding? ex: none of the teachers at this school expect us to read every single day, so when you assign us a reading for every class period, you're pretty exigent.
Exigent is a formal word that is not often used. It's pretty hard to find an authentic usage even on Google. It doesn't go with the informality of "pretty", and I expect most readers will not know what it means. "You are being pretty demanding" would be better, I think.
